Changelog

What's new, improved, and fixed — in plain language, newest first.

Version 16

NewFlash firmware from your dashboard

A Flash Firmware button now appears right in your gateway list and dashboard, so setting up an additional gateway no longer means digging through the command palette.

ImprovedSimpler website navigation

The header now shows just the essentials — Features, Pricing, Compatibility, and Flash — with How It Works, the mobile app download, docs, changelog, support, and legal links organized into clear sections in the footer.

ImprovedCompatibility info in one place

Battery (BMS) compatibility and gateway hardware compatibility now live on a single Compatibility page with tabs, instead of two separate pages.

ImprovedTabbed account settings

Account settings are now organized into Profile & Security, Licenses, Preferences, and Data & Privacy tabs instead of one long scrolling page.

ImprovedFriendlier error messages

Failed sign-ins, lost connections, and other errors on the website and mobile app now show plain, helpful text instead of raw technical details.

RemovedManual telemetry upload interval setting

The telemetry upload interval option in gateway settings (website and mobile) has been removed — your Cloud Service plan now sets this automatically.

FixedGateway charts show correct colors

Gateway detail charts no longer show normal readings in warning or critical alert colors — chart colors are now consistent and reserved for real alerts.

Version 15

ImprovedClearer wording on the free Cloud Service tier

Pricing and terms now describe the free tier as always available, rather than locked to one fixed update interval forever — the interval may still be adjusted over time to stay sustainable, but the free tier itself isn't going away.

Version 14

NewBluetooth connection history on the mobile dashboard

See your gateway's recent Bluetooth connections directly from the mobile app's dashboard, the same history already shown on the website.

ImprovedGateway settings save section by section

Gateway Name, Telemetry, Display, BMS Hardware, Advanced Controls, and Alert Thresholds now each save independently, instead of one long form with a single save button at the bottom.

FixedMobile dashboard stays live

Battery data on the mobile app's dashboard now keeps refreshing automatically, including right when you return to the app, instead of going stale after it's been open a while.

FixedLow Power Deep-Sleep Mode toggle restored

The Low Power Deep-Sleep Mode switch in Advanced gateway settings is now reachable from the mobile app.

Version 13

NewMore alert types

Set thresholds for minimum temperature, maximum current, and cell voltage delta (imbalance between cells), alongside the alert types you already had, from your gateway's Alerts settings.

NewAutomatic sign-out after inactivity on mobile

The mobile app now signs you out automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity, so your battery data stays protected if your phone is lost or borrowed.

ImprovedAnimated cell voltage bars

Cell voltage bars now animate to show charging and discharging in real time, plus a new time-window selector on the status page's uptime history.

ImprovedShort, non-sensitive gateway IDs on mobile

The mobile app's gateway list and settings screens now show a short GW-XXXXXXXX code instead of the full internal device identifier, matching the website and dashboard.

ImprovedIn-app links stay in the app

Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and Support links in the mobile app now open in a built-in browser view instead of switching away to a separate app.

ImprovedLegal pages updated

Terms of Service and Privacy Policy expanded with clearer detail on liability, read-only device access, and how the project is currently run.

FixedSign in with Google, fixed on mobile

Signing in with Google from the mobile app now completes properly and takes you straight to your dashboard, instead of opening a browser tab with no way back into the app.

FixedLicenses now auto-attach

A purchased license that wasn't yet linked to a gateway now attaches automatically the next time your gateway checks in.

Version 12

NewMore gateway hardware controls

Control your gateway's status LED, local web server, relay pin, and sleep mode directly from gateway settings.

NewLive trial countdown

See exactly how much time is left on your gateway's trial, right from its settings page.

NewMobile app download page

A dedicated page for downloading the Android app directly, with Google Play and App Store badges for when those releases arrive.

NewA dedicated Licenses page

See and manage all your gateway licenses from one place, alongside a redesigned fleet overview.

ImprovedCheckout without leaving the page

Paying for a license or Cloud Service subscription now happens in an embedded checkout instead of redirecting away from the site.

ImprovedRedesigned gateway settings layout

Wider layout, clearer tab icons, and less cramped spacing throughout gateway settings.

Version 11

NewBlog

Follow project updates and deep dives on the new blog.

NewIndividual cell voltages on the mobile dashboard

See each cell's voltage directly from the main dashboard in the mobile app, not just the website.

NewTransfer your license to a replacement gateway

If your ESP32 hardware ever fails, your existing license can now be rebound to a replacement device at no extra cost.

NewCustomizable dashboard panels

Choose which panels appear on your gateway's dashboard and in what order.

ImprovedRedesigned firmware flashing tool

A new flashing tool with a live serial console, one-click restart, automatic firmware selection for your detected ESP32 chip, and the option to set up WiFi over the same USB cable during flashing.

ImprovedNew gateways get a friendly default name

Instead of a raw device ID, freshly claimed gateways now start with a friendly default name you can change anytime.

RemovedDirect firmware binary downloads

Superseded by the in-browser flasher — flashing no longer requires downloading a .bin file by hand.

FixedLong gateway names no longer overflow

Long gateway names and IDs are now truncated instead of spilling outside their card.

Version 10

ImprovedMuch more of the site in your language

The onboarding flow, account settings, alerts, dashboard, device settings tabs, About, and FAQ pages are now fully translated, alongside license and Cloud Service banners.

FixedGateway sharing form glitch

The sharing form on a gateway's settings page no longer appears nested inside the wrong section.

Version 9

NewSupport for Daly, JBD, and Seplos battery packs

JKBMSR now works with Daly, JBD, and Seplos BMS packs in addition to JK-BMS — pick your brand from the new BMS settings tab. Daly and JBD support both the wired UART port and Bluetooth; Seplos is Bluetooth-only for now.

Version 8

NewShare a gateway with other people

Gateway owners can now give up to 10 other accounts view-only access to a gateway's dashboard from the new Sharing tab in gateway settings, and revoke access at any time.

NewChoose how your gateway's page looks

Pick from five different layouts for viewing your battery's live data, including a couple of dense, all-dark "technical readout" styles, from a new Templates option in your gateway's settings.

NewA public system status page

See at a glance whether everything is running normally, with an uptime history for the last 90 days.

NewForgot your password?

You can now sign in with a one-time emailed code if you've forgotten your password, and set a new one once you're in.

NewShow or hide your password

Every password field across the site, app, and admin tools now has an eye icon so you can check what you typed.

NewAccount settings page

Change your password or email address, and see whether your Google sign-in is linked, all from one place.

ImprovedBluetooth connection history now updates live

New entries animate in automatically as your gateway reconnects, instead of only updating when you refresh the page.

ImprovedCell voltages moved higher up the page

The Cell Voltages panel moved near the top of your gateway's page so it's easier to find.

ImprovedSign-in and account pages match the rest of the site

These pages previously looked like a separate, unbranded page — they now share the same look as everywhere else.

ImprovedFriendlier "page not found" screen

A helpful page with links back into the site, instead of a blank error page.

ImprovedWe now say "Gateway" instead of "Device"

Clearer wording throughout the site, app, and admin tools about what the physical hardware actually is.

ImprovedAdmin tools got faster and more capable

Gateway and account lists are now searchable and paginated, and support staff can remove a gateway on your behalf if needed.

RemovedOTA update history table

Removed from the gateway detail page to reduce clutter.

FixedRevoke confirmation now sticks

Revoking a device's access previously showed a confirmation that reset itself if you refreshed the page, making it look like nothing happened. It now shows correctly.

Version 7

NewScan a QR code to add a gateway

Instead of typing in a gateway ID and claim code by hand, you can now scan a QR code shown after setup, on both the website and the mobile app.

NewBattery alerts with push notifications

Get an alert (and a phone notification, if you have the app) when a cell voltage, temperature, or charge level crosses a threshold you can configure.

NewTabbed gateway settings

Gateway settings are now organized into tabs (General, WiFi, Firmware, JK-BMS, Alerts) instead of one long page, so alert settings in particular are much easier to find.

NewA real app icon

The mobile app now has its own icon, replacing the generic placeholder.

ImprovedOne consistent look across the whole product

Firmware release pages, the website, and the dashboard now share one visual design.

ImprovedWebsite and dashboard, one address

The public website and the customer dashboard now live under one address instead of two separate ones.

ImprovedMobile app core screens finished

Claiming a gateway, viewing alerts, and checking firmware updates, with clearer status indicators throughout.

Version 6

NewBluetooth connection details on your dashboard

View your JK-BMS's Bluetooth connection details and history right from your gateway's dashboard.

NewRename your gateway

Give your gateway a friendly name from the settings page.

NewManage WiFi remotely

Change your gateway's WiFi network without needing physical access to the device.

NewOn-demand firmware update checks

Request a firmware update check any time instead of waiting for the automatic schedule.

ImprovedFaster firmware release pages

Release lists now load progressively instead of all at once, so pages with many releases feel faster.

Version 5

NewLight mode

The site, dashboard, and admin tools now default to a clean light appearance, with a toggle for dark mode.

ImprovedVisual refresh across the whole product

A full visual refresh across the website, dashboard, admin console, and mobile app for better readability and consistency.

FixedReadability improvements

Several color-contrast issues that made some text hard to read were corrected sitewide.

Version 4

NewFull JK-BMS lineup support

Full support for the complete JK-BMS product lineup, over both a direct wired connection and Bluetooth.

ImprovedSimpler sign-in page

Cleaned up wording and simplified the sign-in experience.

Version 3

NewGuided setup wizard

NewSign in with Google

Available on both the website and the mobile app.

NewWireless WiFi setup

Set up your gateway's WiFi over a simple wireless connection — no cables required.

NewFirmware update protection

Automatic protection against installing an older, potentially insecure firmware version by mistake.

ImprovedEmail verification for new accounts

New accounts now verify their email before claiming a gateway.

Version 2

Then a single one-time payment to keep it active — no monthly subscription.

NewTrial/subscription status in admin tools

Support staff can now see each gateway's trial or subscription status.

ImprovedStronger account security

Improvements to how sign-in and gateway setup are protected behind the scenes.

ImprovedDaily backups

Automatic daily backups of your account and gateway data.

Version 1

NewJKBMSR launch

The customer dashboard, gateway sign-in, guided onboarding, gateway settings, live telemetry view, and firmware release tracking all went live for the first time.

NewOver-the-air firmware updates

Gateways can update themselves without a cable.
